So you've read the headline and you don't understand.
GOOD! You now understand what it's like to be a part of the Fox News audience, and most recently, the CNN audience.
Are you being told, by every pundit in America that the Republican win means voters don't like Obama and his presidency? Are you being told that the fact that the economy is so bad is a result of
Obama's economic plan? Are you being told that Americans are rejecting health care and therefore, rejecting Obama? Do you believe what you are reading or being told?
You shouldn't.
Let's start with the Governor's race in Virginia. The democrat, Deeds, running for this office stood an an ANTI-HEALTH CARE agenda. However, the GOP candidate, McDonnell only said that he would explore the idea of opting out if the health care agenda passed. This could mean, VA voters outright rejected the Democratic candidate who stated she would not even consider health care as an option for VA state voters. http://www.roanoke.com/politics/wb/223276
Further, the New Jersey race is even more confusing to voters who don't understand the dynamics of what is going on in that state. Here are the facts: Gov.
Corzine has been involved in scandals including everything from being involved in a high-speed crash during a motorcade, to being
accused of corruption and even having had a close friend and employee arrested and performing the
perp-walk on camera.
In New York, a good ole' fashioned money binge bought off the election process for Mayor of New York City, and frankly, I am not sure of anyone who is dissatisfied with the person. Clearly,
Bloomberg ran as a Democrat before he was a Republican, so to say that he has much of a party affiliation at all, would be stretching the truth too far past its tolerance level.
This idea, that the national news media supposes, says the Republicans are winning is lost on most people that follow races that have been purported to be important and " referendum" oriented against Nancy
Pelosi, Barack Obama, and the Democratic ideal. My feeling is, and I want you to pay close attention here, Republicans are being led to believe they have a lot of influence and power going into 2010 and beyond. Further, they are being
whoo-
doo'd into believing that they will bring back the Republicans to power in 2012.
False.
The news media isn't liberal and they are in the
Republicans back pockets, as you can see from the hundreds and pundits spread across TV tonight- Republicans are only winning because the Democrats are trouble makers and not of the ideal that Democratic voters want to support. I believe the warning shot is now: If you are against health care options and if you are not a serious Democrat, we will vote for the Republican who most resembles our values.
Warning to Democrats: You're not going to win us over by simply being more Republican. You'll lose your race and you'll lose your base.
